This project is based off the event that takes place every first Friday of every month in Lancaster city. The process of this project is to showcase and interest the community of Lancaster to come together to participate in art, food, and music.
This was my original poster from 2020. The design process of illustrating the building of the market in Lancaster was an idea of mine because it’s a staple piece in Lancaster city, I wanted to show a lot of the line work and structure of this old building because that's what Lancaster city is to me. A lot of interesting old buildings that have been around for many years. I wanted the viewer to first witness and appreciate this illustration within the poster.
This is my now updated version of the poster. My idea for updating the poster was getting out of my comfort zone with the design placements of the older poster. I researched many different colors, typography, and looked up poster designs. I wanted to make illustrations that demonstrate music, food, and art within the poster. I wanted to still stick with the building making it a staple piece of the poster but also having other pieces surround it, including the typography.
